The Community String Orchestra of the Adirondacks, a group for all ages and playing levels led by professional musicians, will explore classical and romantic composers from Vienna to Paris to Moscow in their fall concert series.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Alex Malin and guest conductor Dr. John Curtis, the evening’s program includes:

  • A Mozart Minuet featuring all players, including beginners

  • The Mozart Bassoon Concerto, with Alex Malin as soloist and Dr. John Curtis conducting, joined by trumpets and French horns

  • Swan” from Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns, featuring cellist Muriel Kerr

  • Selections from Shostakovich’s Trios for Two Violins and Piano, performed by Katie Smith, Judy Ann Curtis, and Rhiannon Adsit

  • “Intermezzo in Modo Classico” by Mussorgsky, arranged for string orchestra by Alex Malin
